What does your body do for you?
EVERYTHING IN ORDER FOR YOU TO BE ALIVE.
Your body is amazing and the functions it performs every second of the day is incredible.
We don’t appreciate it. We become disgusted with it. We squidge the fat, we look in the mirror and point out every ‘flaw’.
Society, social pressure and the culture we live in continues to pressure us every moment of the day – we must be thin, we must have big boobs, we must have small boobs, we must have no cellulite, we must have no fat, we must have a big bum, we must have big hips, we must have a flat stomach, we must have size 4 feet…. The list goes on and on and on and on.
The key to starting to love your body again is self-acceptance and gradual growth, and the road is rough but it can be done.
For a long time, I hated my body and suffered all sorts of issues with my body image. Only over the last 3 years have I truly started to heal and love the body I’m in. Some days are easier and some days are harder.
Here’s a little reminder that just because I’m a PT doesn’t mean I have everything in order. My journey continues and if I can help build back some love for your bodies and your mental health it makes it all worth it.
Learn to love yourself one day at a time, one small act at a time and one by one the pieces will fall together and you’ll start to cherish what you have.
Remember your worth and remember your bodies worth.
